North cross country teams sweep Sectional meets

October 14, 2023 - Columbus North won the Sectional team title in both the boys and girls races at the Brown County Sectional on Saturday (Oct 14). The victory marked the boys fifth consecutive Sectional title and 34th overall in program history, ranking them in a tie for second all-time behind Carmel (47) with Bloomington South. The girls won their 27th consecutive Sectional title (first all-time in Indiana), and their 37th overall (also first all-time). In the boys race, Neal White won the individual Sectional title (15:27.9) by more than 23 seconds over Kraedyn Young of Jennings County. Akot Tong was fourth, and Jace Works fifth overall as North captured seven of the top 13 individual places in accumulating 31 team points. In the girls division, Columbus North scored 30 team points to run away with the team title. North again took seven of the top 13 individual places, led by Kyleigh Wolf’s third-place finish (19:08.0). Carys Glyn Jones was fourth, and Macy Eaton eighth for the Dogs. The Bull Dogs will advance to the Evansville Mater Dei Regional at Angel Mounds) on October 21. The boys race will begin at 10:30 am, with the girls to follow at 11:15.
