COLUMBUS, Ind. – Senior Christine Bombardiere smacked a three-run home run Monday (April 18) to propel the Columbus North softball team to a 6-3 victory over rival Columbus East at Southside Elementary School.
Bombardiere’s blast was the centerpiece of a five-run fifth inning, where the Bull Dogs (4-8) overcame a 2-1 deficit for a 6-2 lead. The Olympians (2-6) rallied for one run in the sixth, but CN junior pitcher Madisyn Prince pitched a scoreless seventh to close out the decision.
Columbus East took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but Columbus North drew even in the bottom of the frame when senior Katie Prall tripled and then scored on an error.
