INDIANAPOLIS – Senior Charlie Allen placed 59th in the boys’ division of the Miracle Mile on Friday (April 13) in the 2018 Flashes Showcase meet at Franklin Central High School.
Allen was timed in 4 minutes, 38.71 seconds in the elite competition for distance athletes. CN junior Sam Horak finished 74th in the same race in 4:42.75.
Evansville Memorial senior Matthew Schadler won the race in 4:13.70. Fort Wayne Snider junior Jesse Hamlin was second in 4:13.92, and Cathedral junior Cole Hocker placed third in 4:14.52.
Columbus North freshman Colin Pruitt finished 33rd in the boys’ Freshman Mile in 4:57.23. Westview’s Spencer Carpenter took first place in 4:27.06.
The Bull Dogs’ quartet of senior Evan Porter, senior Joel Carroll, sophomore Carson Littrell and senior Drew Thompson placed 17th in the 4x800 in 8:37.73. Lowell won the race in 8:12.42, and Carmel was runner-up in 8:14.33.
Greencastle junior Emma Wilson set a meet record of 4:54.94 to win the girls’ Miracle Mile. She was followed by Carmel sophomore Phoebe Bates in 4:59.24 and Brownsburg freshman Abigail Lynch in 5:00.84.
Bloomington South captured the girls’ 4x800 in 9:51.25, more than 10 seconds ahead of Fort Wayne Concordia in 10:01.29.
Columbus North had no girls entered in the Flashes Showcase.
Columbus North is scheduled to return to action at 11 a.m. Saturday (April 14) in the Midwest Prep Invitational at Lawrence Central. CN entries in that competition are listed below.
