Senior Josh Holley was cited as the MVP of the Columbus North unified track and field team Thursday (June 14) during the squad’s end-of-season gathering in the Columbus North Large-Group Instruction Room.
Senior Randall Watts also received a special honor as he was presented the Bull Dog Award.
The Bull Dogs’ unified track team placed third at the IHSAA unified track State Finals on June 2 at Indiana University’s Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex. Earlier, the Columbus North squad claimed championships in the Conference Indiana, Borden Sectional and Bedford North Lawrence Regional.
Holley as well as seniors Ross Gill, Hannah Hart and Kenzie Patberg were recognized as team captains.
Athletes who were recognized as letter winners included seniors Matt Boldrey, Collin Booher, Jenna Borger, Ross Gill, Davin Greenlee, Hannah Hart, Bailey Hester, Josh Holley, Caden Nentrup, Nathan Nugent, Kelsey Patberg, Kenzie Patberg, Cassidy Satterfield, Liz Tynan, Randall Watts and Grace Willliams; juniors Noah Algee, Devin Ashcroft, James Dwyer, Ryan Farrell and Tanner Johnson; sophomores Anthony Ashcroft, Dalton Kirk, Jackson Payne and Matt Ruehman; and freshmen Marisol Castaneda, Alana Cook and Max Wilson.
Others recognized as part of the program were senior Kyla Foley; junior Elizabeth Dwyer; sophomores Cynthia Cordova, Melissa Milvert, Alexa Navarro, Emma Tynan and Kate Whaley; and freshmen Zoe Dougherty, Gabe Foley, Lauren Grider, Kristina Knoch, Kate Kolhouse, Alexa McKinley, Amaya Pierceall, Zoe Preston, Maddie Roop and Madison White.
