GREENSBURG, Ind. – Sophomore Nathaly Munnicha shot a 2-over-par 37 on Wednesday (Sept. 12) to lift the Columbus North girls golf team to first place in a three-team match at Greensburg Country Club.
The Bull Dogs totaled a 155 to outshoot host Greensburg (183) and Columbus East (187) and complete their season at 11-0 in two- and three-school matches.
Junior Annie Anderson carded a 38, while senior Alex Munnicha and sophomore Yestika Nischol each added a 40 for Columbus North. Freshmen Ella Wilks, Macy Euler and Gwen Anderson completed the CN lineup with respective scores of 48, 52 and 53.
Kennedy McCullough paced the Pirates with a 42. She was supported by a 43 from Claire Dennett and 49s from Ellie Acra and Rachel Nobbe.
Senior Ellie Buntin led the Olympians with a 43. Freshman Harley Gant shot a 46 followed by senior Kati Brunn with a 48 and junior Lauren Steinwedel with a 50.
Columbus North returns to action at 8:30 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 15) in the Greensburg Sectional at Greensburg Country Club. Others in the 11-school field are Batesville, Columbus East, East Central, Greensburg, Jac-Cen-Del, Milan, North Decatur, Oldenburg Academy, Rushville and South Decatur. The top three teams plus the top three individuals not on those teams advance to the Lapel Regional on Sept. 22 at Edgewood Golf Course in Anderson.
The Bull Dogs are seeking their sixth consecutive sectional title and the 22nd in program history.
