COLUMBUS, Ind. – Sophomore Ella Wilks recorded an even-par 36 on Monday (Aug. 12), leading the Columbus North girls golf team to a 153-184 victory over Perry Meridian in a dual match at Harrison Lake Country Club.
Senior Annie Anderson added a 37 and junior Nathaly Munnicha carded a 38 for the Bull Dogs in their season-opening dual match on HLCC’s back nine. Junior Yestika Nischol completed CN’s top four with a 42, while sophomore Macy Euler tallied a 43 and sophomore Gwen Anderson had a 45.
Freshman Ritisha Rashmil shot a 62 and freshman Nathalie Cross had a 67 to round out the Bull Dogs’ lineup.
Freshman Anna Kavanaugh paced the Falcons with a 42. Sophomore Olivia Lusch chipped in a 43, while junior Claire Sampson tallied a 49 and sophomore Tanisha Downer had a 50.
Wilks’ 36 was a high school career best; her best nine-hole score as a freshman was a 41 against Columbus East. The Bull Dogs’ 153 team score was its best since a 146-178 victory over Greensburg in September 2017.
Columbus North returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 14) when it faces Jennings County at St. Anne’s Golf Course in North Vernon. The Bull Dogs take part in the Zionsville Invitational on Saturday (Aug. 17) at the Golf Club of Indiana in Lebanon.
