Two players from Columbus North have been voted to the All-District 3 boys basketball honor squad for 2021 by the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association.
The HBCA is a coaches group that serves the southern half of Indiana.
HBCA all-district players must be seniors, and those selected from Columbus North are Blake Barker and Reese Harmon.
Barker, a 6-2 guard bound for Army, averages 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals so far this season for the 11-5 Bull Dogs. He is converting 45 percent from the field (91-of-203), including 36 percent on 3-pointers (42-of-116), plus 62 percent on free throws (54-of-87).
Harmon, a 6-0 guard, is headed to Iowa Western Community College for baseball. In basketball, Harmon is averaging 10.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.6 steals. He has converted 50 percent from the field (55-of-110), 44 percent from long range (19-of-43) and 79 percent from the free-throw line (33-of-42).
Barker and Harmon now are eligible for the HBCA all-regional team that will be invited to play in the annual HBCA East-West All-Star Classic. Players from Districts 3 and 4 are chosen for the East team. Players from Districts 1 and 2 comprise the West team.
