June 17, 2021 - The Columbus North Athletic Department is pleased to welcome Kate Ash as a new athletic trainer, replacing Steve Souder who is retiring June 30. Ash joins Ashley Martin, who has been an athletic trainer at North since 2016.
Ash comes to Columbus North after serving the same role at Nobelsville High School (2014-2021) and Winchester High School (2012-2014). She completed her degree from Ball State in 2012 after graduating from Lapel High School in 2008. While at Lapel, Ash played softball and basketball and had been the water girl on her father’s football team since age eight. Ash points to the time spent with her dad on the sidelines as a key factor in her interest in athletics and athletic training.
“BCSC has a reputation as a great school system, and Columbus North is known as a successful athletic program around the state. I am excited to become part of this community,” Ash explained.
Ash, along with her fiance Cam, a teacher and coach at Jennings County, have lived in Columbus since February along with their two dogs, Tank and Yogi. The Bull Dog Nation welcomes Kate to Columbus and the Columbus North Athletic Department.
