Girls Varsity Basketball
The Columbus North-Shelbyville boys’ basketball game on Friday, Nov. 30 will be a “Coaches vs. Cancer” game.
Columbus North senior Tara James has put together a Senior Project designed to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, plus provide information about cancer screenings and treatments.
Staff members from the American Cancer Society are expected to be on hand.
In addition, James will raise funds in these ways:
1, The sale of a custom “Shoot For A Cure!” T-shirt designed especially for the game. The shirts will be sold for $12 each at school from Monday, Nov. 26 through Friday, Nov. 30, with 100 percent of the revenue thanks to sponsors who covered the production cost of the shirts: Columbus Regional Health, Columbus Pallet, Norris and Gregory Armuth, Rodney M. Finke, Kim Fox, The Alazin Elevator and The Tony London Company.
2, The sale of pumpkin pies donated by The Apple Works Orchard of Trafalgar, Ind. Pies will be sold for $10 each and available for delivery at the Columbus North-Franklin Central girls’ basketball game on Tuesday, Nov. 20 – in time for use on Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 22. If pies remain after Nov. 20, they will be available at the CN-Heritage Christian girls’ game on Nov. 27 and/or the CN-Shelbyville boys’ game on Nov. 30.
3, Accepting direct donations for the charity.
Please look for opportunities to support Tara and her project by purchasing a T-shirt and/or a pumpkin pie.
