COLUMBUS, Ind. – Sophomore Zac Horn accounted for four touchdowns and the defense provided two additional scores Saturday (Oct. 17), keying the Columbus North JV football team to a 48-0 victory over Terre Haute South at Max Andress Field.

                Horn scored on two runs and had two TD passes as the Bull Dogs’ JV completed their season at 5-2. He opened the scoring with a 17-yard run in the first quarter, then hit sophomore Nathan Palmer with a 9-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter. Horn added a 1-yard touchdown with 2:07 left in the second quarter, then connected with sophomore Max Mormino on a 33-yard TD just 29 seconds prior to intermission.

                The defense stepped up with two touchdowns in the third quarter. Sophomore Alex Narvaez scored on a 55-yard interception return, and sophomore Savion Banks gave the Bull Dogs a second pick-six with a 26 yard interception return. The pick was Banks’ second of the day; he also had a second-quarter interception.

                Sophomore Brandon Cowan experienced a lineman’s dream by scoring CN’s final touchdown. With the Bull Dogs on the Braves’ 6, sophomore Ian Calvert charged toward the end zone but the ball came loose about the 1 and bounced into the end zone. Cowan jumped on it there to score the TD.

                Sophomore Trent Liggett converted 5-of-5 extra-point kicks, while junior Umer Azeem was 1-of-2 on PATs.

                Terre Haute South highlights included an interception by junior C.J. Forney in the first quarter and a fumble recovery by junior Owen Norris in the second quarter.
