INDIANAPOLIS -- Senior Audrey Lewis pounded down 14 kills and classmate Julie Reece provided 15 digs Tuesday evening (Oct. 11), lifting the Columbus North volleyball team to a 3-1 victory at Southport.
Senior Rachael Miller chipped in nine kills and 11 digs for the Bull Dogs, who improved to 18-14 overall and clinched third place in Conference Indiana at 5-2.
"Julie had great serving game and owned the back court," CN coach Megan Shaff said. "Audrey continued her attack with 14 kills and two aces."
Others who contributed to the 17-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-17 win included senior Molly Rinehart (seven kills, two blocks), senior Kasi Prohaska (five kills), junior Quin Shoultz (30 assists, five digs) and freshman Karen Wildemann (seven digs).
The Bull Dogs also won the JV match 2-0. Sophomore Kelsey Cunningham notched seven kills and classmate Tessa Krempel had six as CN prevailed 25-7, 25-20. Sophomore Deon Roese contributed five aces, while freshman Janelle Peters paced the defense with 10 digs. Sophomore Allison Purdue chipped in with 17 assists.
Columbus North returns to action Thursday (Oct. 13) when it visits Seymour for its regular-season finale. JV and freshman matches begin at 6 p.m., and the varsity match will follow the JV.
