Girls Varsity Volleyball
COLUMBUS, Ind. – Junior Molly Shannon tallied 11 kills and 14 assists on Tuesday evening (Aug. 27), leading the Perry Meridian volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Columbus North in Memorial Gym.
Senior Savanna Pipes added seven kills and 11 digs as the Falcons improved to 4-2 for the season with the 26-24, 25-18, 25-20 decision. Sophomore Lauren Crittenden provided six kills, while junior Abby Sitzman produced 14 digs. Senior Sara Allen had four blocks, and sophomore Campbell Clark served three aces.
Sophomore Sarah Bennett paced the Bull Dogs (1-2) with eight kills and two blocks. Senior Gabby Genth contributed four kills and two blocks, while junior Madison White had three kills and two blocks. Senior Emma Tynan also netted three kills.
Sophomore Reagan Kane totaled 18 assists, while senior Kate Whaley had 11 assists. Senior Jalynn Reardon and sophomore Sydney Cooper each had one ace.
At the JV level, Perry Meridian claimed a 25-19, 25-18 triumph. Sophomore Logan Bransetter tallied four kills, while classmate Sydney Donica had three kills and four digs as the Bull Dogs fell to 1-2. Freshman Elizabeth Rayburn provided six digs, while freshman Rylie Boezeman had five digs and sophomore Grace Chapman totaled four digs. Freshman Emma Burns and Harley Anderson each had three aces.
Columbus North returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 29) when it visits Roncalli. The JV match begins at 5:30, and the varsity match follows about 6:45 p.m.
