Girls Varsity Volleyball
Columbus North leads the Conference Indiana All-Sports races for both boys and girls after league championships have been decided in four sports for each gender.
Points are awarded on an 8-6-4-3-2-1 basis based on a team’s finish in each respective sport. Then the points for each sport are added together throughout the school year to determine winners in the All-Sports competitions. There are separate All-Sports titles awarded for boys sports and girls sports.
The Bull Dogs claimed CI crowns this fall in all four boys’ sports – cross country, football, soccer and tennis – for a maximum 32 points so far in the 2020-21 school year. Bloomington North is in second place with 17 points followed by Bloomington South with 15 points, Terre Haute South with 11.5 points, Southport with 11 points and Terre Haute North with 9.5 points.
In girls’ sports, Columbus North captured titles this fall in three sports – cross country, golf and soccer – and leads the 2020-21 standings with 26.5 points. Bloomington South is second with 20 points followed by Terre Haute South with 16 points, Bloomington North with 15 points, Terre Haute North with 11.5 points and Southport with seven points.
In 2019-20, Columbus North and Bloomington South tied for boys’ all-sports title with 36.33 points apiece, and Columbus North won the girls’ all-sports crown with 45 points.
Over the past 23 school years, since Conference Indiana was founded in the 1997-98, the Columbus North boys have won or shared the all-sports title seven times and the Bull Dogs have won or shared the girls’ all-sports crown 16 times.
