COLUMBUS, Ind. – Senior Morgan Smith prevailed at 113 pounds Wednesday (Jan. 9), but it was not enough as the Columbus North wrestling team dropped a 72-3 decision at Columbus East.
The host Olympians won 11 of 12 classes on the mat and claimed two forfeits to take the match between the cross-town opponents.
Smith claimed a 6-4 decision over East’s Kenton Wilson for the Bull Dogs’ only points of the meet.
Columbus North returns to action at 9 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 12) in the Conference Indiana meet at Bloomington North. Other teams in the CI meet are Bloomington North, Bloomington South, Southport, Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South.
