The Columbus North wrestling program will send a contingent of junior varsity athletes to compete in the Columbus East JV Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 9).
The Bull Dogs’ JV group was to compete in the New Palestine Invitational on this date. However, Hancock County is in “red” on the Indiana State Department of Health’s COVID county color dashboard this week, meaning Columbus North cannot participate in that event.
The Columbus East JV event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
The Columbus North varsity was to compete in the Old Capitol City Classic at Corydon Central the same day. Similarly, Harrison County is “red” on the county color dashboard, again meaning the Bull Dogs’ varsity cannot go to that event. The CN varsity could not find another event to replace the event in Corydon.
Columbus North wrestling returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 12) when it faces Jennings County in a dual meet. The Bull Dogs follow by competing in the Conference Indiana meet at 9 a.m. at Southport.
