June 2, 2021 - Senior Kyler McIntosh was selected to play for the South squad at the Indiana High School Coaches Association North/South All-star game to be held at the University of Evansville June 25-27.
McIntosh was among the nine pitchers selected for the 25-man South team. The team, which has representatives from all four IHSAA classes, also contains four middle infielders, two third basemen, two first basemen, four outfielders, three catchers, and one ‘flex’ position selected from among players already named to the All-district team, selected earlier this season.
McIntosh has pitched in twelve games for the second-ranked Bull Dogs, starting nine of them. He is 8-1 with an ERA of 1.731. He has struck out 59 batters, walking only eight in 60-⅔ innings of work. When not pitching, McIntosh plays primarily shortstop, tallying a .977 fielding percentage, and committing only two errors for the season. Appearing in all 32 games for Columbus North so far this season, McIntosh’s batting average is .400 with 40 hits, including six doubles, five triples, and three home runs. His 38 RBI lead the team, and he has stolen 13 bases.
The 27-4-1 Bull Dogs will meet Center Grove in the Jasper Regional on Saturday, June 5 at 11:00 pm.
