Boys All Levels Golf
NEW PALESTINE, Ind. – Senior Drew Smith posted a 38 on Wednesday (May 8) to lead the Columbus North boys golf team to first place in a three-team meet at The Links Golf Course.
The Bull Dogs totaled 162 as a team to outscore host New Palestine with a 174 and Shelbyville with a 196.
Senior Henry Kiel and freshman Luke Schneider each carded a 41 for the Bull Dogs, who improved to 11-1-1 in two- and three-team meets. Sophomore Luke VanDeventer shot a 42 to complete CN’s top four. Sophomore Jacob Niedbalski notched a 43 and sophomore Michael Gambaiani had a 47 to round out the lineup.
Josh Shinkle paced New Palestine with a 42, while Matthew Buntin led Shelbyville with a 43.
Columbus North returns to action at 4 p.m. Thursday (May 9) when it faces Bloomington North in a dual meet at Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh. The Bull Dogs follow by competing in the Brownsburg Invitational at 8:30 a.m. Saturday (May 11) at The Trophy Club in Lebanon.
