FRANLIN, Ind. -- Junior Emma Wilson and sophomore Morgan Parkhurst each scored in a first-half burst Saturday (Oct. 3), helping the Columbus North girls soccer team to a 2-2 tie at Franklin.
Junior Natalie Teo and senior Rachel Craig contributed assists for the Bull Dogs, who completed their regular season with a 4-8-3 record. Junior Charlotte Verbanic made four saves in goal for CN.
Junior Delanie Hill put the Lady Cubs (10-4-2) on the board in the seventh minute off an assist from junior Mysia Dewitt.
The Bull Dogs tied the game in the 28th minute when Wilson scored on a header off a Teo corner kick. The visitors went ahead a minute later when Parkhurst took a Craig feed and beat Franklin junior Allison Barnard for a 2-1 advantage.
The Cubs tied the game when freshman Emilie Hill scored an unassisted goal in the 58th minute.
Barnard finished with six saves for Franklin.
At the JV level, sophomore Corrine Orben and freshman Reeya Chenanda each scored two goals as Columbus North prevailed 5-0. Sophomore Summer Spencer also scored, while sophomore Morgan Imlay contributed two assists and Orben and sophomore Anna Andrews each had one assist. Sophomore Liz Tynan went all the way in goal for the shutout.
The Bull Dogs' JV completed their season with a 6-6-2 record.
The Columbus North varsity returns to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 6) when it faces Scottsburg at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex in the first round of the Columbus North Sectional.
