Girls Varsity Soccer
Four Columbus North soccer players have been recognized as all-District 4 athletes by the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association.
Junior forward Alex McGill was chosen first-team all-district from the CN boys. Senior goalkeeper Liz Tynan and junior forward Tanner Johnson were selected first-team all-district from the Columbus North girls. Also, junior defender Elise Whitley was tabbed second-team all-district from the Bull Dog girls.
McGill paced the Columbus North boys with 53 points on 22 goals and nine assists for a 13-6-1 squad that finished as Conference Indiana and sectional runner-up.
Tynan posted a 0.91 goals-against average and eight shutouts for the 14-4-2 Columbus North girls, who captured sectional and regional championships. Johnson led the team with 39 points on 18 goals and three assists. Whitley was a key defender for a unit that allowed just 17 goals all season.
Those chosen to the all-district teams will be considered for ISCA All-State teams that will be announced in November.
