COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Senior Alex Davidson scored a pair of unassisted first-half goals Thursday evening (Aug. 20), sparking the Columbus North boys soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Bloomington North at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex.
The Bull Dogs improved to 1-0-1 with the decision following their season-opening 1-1 tie at East Central on Tuesday (Aug. 18).
Davidson's first goal came in the 12th minute of the contest, and he tallied again in the 29th minute.
Bloomington North's Luke Domer made it 2-1 in the 69th minute, but CN held on from that point to record the triumph.
Senior Ty Bentham played the entire game in the nets for the Bull Dogs. He recorded four saves.
Columbus North put eight shots on goal, finding the net twice.
In the JV game, the teams played to a 0-0 draw.
Columbus North returns to action next Thursday (Aug. 27) when it hosts Cathedral. The JV game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and the varsity game should begin about 7 p.m.
