Senior Tyler Heathcote was recognized as MVP for the 2015 Columbus North boys soccer team Sunday evening (Oct. 25) at the team's season-ending gathering.
A defensive midfielder, Heathcote scored one goal in helping the Bull Dogs produce a 7-7-2 season that included a runner-up finish in Conference Indiana.
Others cited at the gathering were senior Alex Davidson, junior Nick Beales and senior Alan Rodriguez.
Davidson, who totaled six points on two goals and two assists, was named winner of the Bull Dog Award. Beales, who tallied three points on one goal and one assist, was selected the team's most improved player. Rodriguez, who amassed 14 points on six goals and two assists as a junior but was unable to play as a senior, was presented the David Green Spirit of the Game Award.
Varsity letters were awarded to seniors Ty Bentham, Alex Davidson, Preston Grimes, Tyler Heathcote, Lucas McGill, Kevin Morales, Mason Shaffer and Sam Snider; juniors Nick Beales, Kaemon Jiles, Jake Osborne, Cameron Phillips and Mark Salle-Tabor; sophomores Jannis Anderson, Axel Arroyo, Rico Hollenkamp, Andrew Potter and Jack Robertson; and freshmen Zach Friend and Alex McGill.
Recognized as JV players were juniors Paco Cena, Jeremias De La Cruz, Alec Doyle, Sam LaVelle and Alvaro Poyatos; sophomores Brenden Agnew, Finn Anderson, Todd Liggett and Kyler Wheeler; and freshmen Damien Daugherty, Juan Fernando-Perez, Michael Gonzalez, Victor Hernandez, Noah Kestler, Henry Kiel, Bart Leonarski, John Lyvers, Ben Mendoza, Massimo Sanchez-Lara, Cameron Swan and Frasier Swan.
