CN's Jiles earns spot in IHSAA State Finals in diving

                BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Columbus North junior diver Kaemon Jiles earned a spot in the 2016 IHSAA State Finals by placing second Tuesday (Feb. 23) in the Bloomington North Regional.

                Jiles, the defending regional champion, totaled 405.25 points to finish a close second. Castle’s Jordan Wright won the event with 405.70 points, just .45 better than Jiles. Mooresville’s Ashton Johnson placed third with 403.80 points before a big drop to fourth place – Franklin’s Gauge Creech at 353.10 points.

                The top eight finishers all earned spots in the diving state finals, which are set for Saturday (Feb. 27) at the Natatorium at IUPUI in Indianapolis. The preliminary round begins at 9 a.m. Semifinals are at 11 a.m. The finals are part of the swimming and diving finals that start at 1 p.m.
