August 16, 2023 - Columbus North netted three goals in the first half against Lawrence North and then secured the shutout in the second half for a 3-0 victory at Lawrence North on Tuesday evening (August 15). Aiden Whitley scored off a Nico Gotoh assist to put the Dogs on the board in the 19th minute. Obed Oliva used a Misaki Takemoto assist to put the Bull Dogs up 2-0 in the 24th minute. Takemoto then collected his second assist with a head ball goal by Leo Iorio just two minutes later to complete the scoring for the match. Dogs had 19 shots for the match, with seven being on frame. The Bull Dogs held Lawrence North to just five shots, with three on goal. Juan Jose Salcedo Calderon recorded three saves in 80 minutes of work in goal. The JV game was called at halftime due to darkness with a 0-0 draw between the teams. The Dogs will host Bloomington North in their second Conference Indiana matchup in the young season on Thursday evening, August 17. JV will get underway at 6:00 pm with varsity to follow around 7:30.
