August 16, 2023 - When Columbus North volleyball had their scrimmage against Bloomington South canceled last week, it meant that their first competitive contest of the season would come when they hosted Seymour on Tuesday evening (August 16). The Bull Dogs had stretches of great volleyball with a few moments of first-game jitters sprinkled throughout the match. The Dogs dropped three competitive sets to the Owls (18-25, 21-25, 18-25). Karen Dutro led the Dogs in Kills with six. Morgan Osborn had 21 digs to pace North, while Reese Edwards and Holly Evans had six and five assists, respectively. Evans and Ally Wettschurack each recorded Aces for Columbus North (0-1). Seymour took both sub-varsity matches 2-1 in the early matches. The Bull Dogs will travel to Shelbyville on Thursday (August 17). JV is set to begin at 6:00 with the varsity match to follow.
