August 17, 2023 - The boys and girls cross country teams started their competitive season in Brown County on Wednesday at the Brown County Cross Country Challenge at Eagle Park. The runners competed in two-person teams in this unique event, with each runner covering the 5k route in relay style. Team points were awards based on order of finish. The girls team of Lana Wisler and Ainsley Sherlock won the girls event in a combined time of 19:57.7. Columbus North took the top five positions and ten of the top 14 spots to easily outscore the other five competing teams (Columbus East, Brown County, Martinsville, Silver Creek, and Waldron. In the boys division, the team of Adam Reckers and Nathan White placed second overall in 16:00.5. The boys took 13 of the top 18 spots to take the team title with nine points. The Bull Dogs will compete against Columbus East in a dual meet as part of Rivalry Week on Tuesday, August 22 beginning at 5:30 pm.
