August 22, 2023 - The Bull Dogs girls soccer team controlled the ball throughout the match, outshot the Grizzly Cubs 16-2, and dominated everywhere except the scoreboard as the two teams battled to a 2-2 draw on Monday evening. While the Grizzly Cubs only took two shots in the match, both found the back of the net to preserve the draw. The Dogs got on the board just two minutes into the match as Avery Baker put Gabby Spurgeon’s assist in from the left side, giving the Dogs a 1-0 lead. Franklin answered with a goal on a Penalty Kick later in the half. Anna Donica made it 2-1 Bull Dogs with a goal of her own in the 28th minute. Franklin tied the match in the 72nd minute when a ball was mishandled by the North keeper and found the back of the net. The Dogs had a few more shots before the clock ran out, but none of them could sneak past Franklin’s keeper. There was no JV match on Monday. The Dogs (1-1-1) will need to regroup quickly as they will face Columbus East on Wednesday at the BCSC Soccer Complex, a match hosted by East. JV will begin at 5:30, with varsity to follow.
