By Jason Perry | Dec 6, 2025 10:40 AM
December 6, 2025 - Columbus North boys basketball was unable to overcome Silver Creek’s size advantage and hot three-point shooting and suffered their first loss of the season. The 65-53 loss came from a combination of shooting struggles and foul trouble, and dropped the Dogs to 2-1 for the season. Austin Perry led the Bull Dogs with 17 points, but eight of those came in the fourth quarter, after the outcome had clearly been decided. The Dogs fell behind 19-7 after one quarter, but cut the deficit to just nine at 34-25 at the halftime break. Silver Creek took control for good in the third quarter and built a 56-38 lead after three quarters. Ben Kreisant added 14 points for North, eight of which came in the second quarter that helped keep the Bull Dogs in the game. The JV team also suffered their first loss of the season, a 60-51 defeat in overtime, but the freshmen moved to 3-0 for the season with a decisive 48-35 victory in the other early game. The Dogs will play their first road game of the season this evening at Martinsville. JV and freshman teams are scheduled to tip off at 6:00, with varsity to follow.
