August 23, 2023 - Tuesday evening was a tale of “fours” at the BCSC Soccer Complex when New Albany came to play. The fourth-ranked Bull Dogs improved to 4-0 with a 4-1 victory over New Albany in a game that was postponed one hour due to excessive heat. Misaki Takemoto scored his first of two goals just eight minutes into the match, netting an assist from Obed Oliva. In the 28th minute, Aidan Whitley assisted a goal by Christian Cardoso to put the Dogs up 2-0. Then, with less than a minute remaining in the first half, Madux Tovey scored with an assist from Derek Arau to give the Dogs a comfortable 3-0 lead heading into the break. Just a couple of minutes into the second half, Takemoto bent a beautiful shot from the right side into the left edge of the goal to build the Bull Dog lead to 4-0 (assist by Cardoso). New Albany avoided the shutout with a 44th-minute goal, reaching the final 4-1 score. The Bull Dogs out-shot New Albany 14-9 with seven of the shots being on-goal. Juan Jose Salcedo Calderon kept goal for the Dogs for 76 of the 80 minutes before turning the duties over to Noah Marsh. Calderon was credited with a pair of saves and one goal allowed. New Albany won the JV match 1-0. The Bull Dogs were scheduled to face Columbus East on Thursday evening, but the matches have been pushed to Saturday due to dangerous heat on Thursday.
