North ninth at Indian Creek girls wrestling sectional, advancing one to regionals

January 3, 2026 - Junior Zahlynn Williams placed fourth in her weight class, earning a berth in the IHSAA Regionals as the Bull Dogs finished ninth among 15 teams at the Indian Creek sectional wrestling tournament on Friday, January 2. Nitya Hurli and Aubreigh Campbell each finished fifth in their respective weight classes, while Gabby Gilman and Leslie Bridges each earned sixth place finishes. Paris Lopez-Pendaz and Alona Call also wrestled for the Bull Dogs and finished in the top eight. The Dogs scored 45 team points to finish ninth. Whiteland won the sectional team title with 295 points and were the only team to enter a wrestler in all 14 weight classes. Regionals will be held at Bloomington South on Saturday, January 10, beginning at 10:00 am and will be fed by the Indian Creek, Floyd Central, Mt. Vernon, and Ben Davis sectional tournaments.
