North battles but falls short against Carmel

January 19, 2026 - The Bull Dogs boys took Carmel (10-1) to overtime on Saturday night, but fell just short, dropping a 59-52 decision. The Dogs trailed 18-14 after one quarter, but rallied to a 27-27 tie heading into halftime. A two-point Carmel lead at the end of three quarters got stretched to eight early in the fourth quarter, but North clawed back to a 50-50 tie at the end of overtime, but were outscored 9-2 in the extra period to fall to 7-6 for the season. Caleb Ferguson and Austin Perry each scored 18 points for the Bull Dogs to lead all scorers, but four Greyhounds in double figures doomed North. The Greyhounds swept both sub-varsity games, winning the JV game 49-36 and the freshman game 56-41. North’s JV team is now 6-4 and the frosh are now 8-3. North will have a few days to regroup before hosting Perry Meridian on Saturday evening. The JV and freshman games will begin at 6:00 with varsity to follow.
