North dominates Jennings County in the pool

January 20, 2026 - Columbus North swimming and diving teams celebrated Senior Night by sweeping visiting Jennings County in both the boys and girls divisions. The girls won 132-53 and the boys recorded a 111-69 victory. According to head coach Mike Cunningham, 80% of the Bull Dogs’ performances were season-bests. Top finishers in the boys division included: 200 medley relay: HP Devaguptapu, Isaac Niewedde, Aarush Mahato, Luis Valerdi - 1st 200 free: Eli Varchenko - 2nd 200 individual medley: Hudson Clock - 1st 50 free: Mahato - 1st 1m diving: Dagan Kleffman - 1st 100 butterfly: Mahato - 1st 100 free: Clock - 2nd 500 free: Devaguptapu - 2nd 200 free relay: Mahato, Abhay Bhadauria, Eli McIntier, Niewedde - 2nd 100 backstroke: McIntier - 2nd 100 breaststroke: Niewedde - 1st 400 free relay: Bhadauria, Anand Neela, Varchenko, Savier Serrahima - 2nd Top performances for the Bull Dogs in the girls division were 200 medley relay: Mridula Muthukumaran, Sanchita Ponnathpur, Advika Badve, Abigail Proffitt - 1st 200 free: Muthukumaran - 1st 200 individual medley: Caroline Crawford - 1st 50 free: Proffitt - 1st 1m diving: Sophia Sandoval - 3rd 100 butterfly: Aaradhana Venkatesan - 2nd 100 free: Badve - 1st 500 free: Muthukumaran - 1st 200 free relay: Brooklyn Pendleton, Proffitt, Kanav Mehta, Murhukumaran - 1st 100 backstroke: Crawford - 1st 100 breaststroke: Carolina Balogona - 1st 400 free relay: Cora Tregoning, Pendleton, Crawford, Nandini Kondhare - 2nd The divers will participate in the Mooresville Dive Invitational on Saturday, January 24 before the boys will host Bloomington South on Tuesday, January 27. The girls next meet will be the sectional meet on February 5.
