Cross country teams take third place at Rick Weinheimer Classic

September 3, 2023 - Both the girls and boys cross country teams grabbed third-place finishes at the 2023 Rick Weinheimer Classic at Ceraland on Saturday, September 2. Neal White finished second overall in 15:13.50, just three seconds behind Will Conway from Floyd Central, who won the event in the AA Varsity division. Akot Tong finished 18th, Jace Works 28th, Draven Martinez 32nd, Logan Vanzant 37th, Jonny Klaus 39th, Ami Gangadhara 41st, Adam Reckers 45th, Denton Sluder 50th, and Evan Bense 52nd for the Bull Dogs. Noblesville won the boys event with 64 team points, with Floyd Central (88) claiming second in the team division. Columbus North finished with 115 points. In the girls AA Varsity division, Kyleigh Wolf led the Bull Dogs with a 14th-place finish in 19:49.70. Carys Glyn-Jones finished 19th, Ainsley Sherlock 24th, Macy Eaton 26th, Maggie Russell 30th, Katie Frazier 31st, Lydia Week 35th, Kenzie Meyer 48th, Emma Lowther 60th, and Lana Wisler 64th for Columbus North. Noblesville (44 team points) also won the girls division, with Avon finishing second (105), just ahead of Columbus North (110). Both of the JV teams finished second behind Noblesville in their respective divisions. The cross country teams will compete in the Eagle Classic in Brown County on Saturday, September 9. The meet is scheduled to get started around 8:30 am.
