Austin Perry knocks down two of his game-high 25 points in a 70-63 victory over Covenant Christian on Thursday evening, February 26.

February 27, 2026 - After losing four straight games, Columbus North boys basketball needed a victory to get back on track heading into sectional play. A 70-63 triumph over Covenant Christian on Thursday night did just that. Austin Perry had 25 points, Jack Whaley added eleven, and Caleb Ferguson added ten to help the Dogs close the regular season with a 12-10 record. North had to adjust to the Warriors’ fast break, as they gave up a number of easy layups in the first quarter. However, once the Bull Dogs were able to get back on defense and force Covenant Christian into a half-court game, their comeback began. The Dogs took their first lead, 46-44 midway through the third quarter, and maintained the lead for most of the rest of the remainder of the contest. The JV team won their game 47-32 to finish their season 13-6, and the freshmen finished 13-7 after a 26-24 victory in the other early game. The Bull Dogs drew a first-round draw in the Columbus North Sectional and will face Columbus East in the 6:00 game on Friday, March 6.
