Dogs drop a pair to Mt. Vernon

April 4, 2026 - Bull Dog baseball dropped both games of a Saturday doubleheader against. Mt. Vernon at the Southside diamonds. The Dogs dropped the first game 11-8 and the second 17-7 Brock Kintner had a home run and three RBI in the first game, and Macario Mendez homered, tripled, and scored two runs. Jack Whaley also tallied a pair of hits, and Sam Perry smacked a two-run double in the loss. In game one, Franko Ortega got the start and lasted 4-⅔ innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out one. Dillon Long came on in relief and tossed 1-⅓ innings, allowing a pair of runs on four hits while walking one. Kintner tossed the final inning and allowed one run and one hit. In game two, Kintner hit his second home run of the day and had four RBI, while Whaley tallied two more hits. Cole Stevens had a pair of RBI and Daiju Iwaya had a pair of hits for North in the second game as well. However, the Dogs had four errors on defense, just couldn’t find a way to get the outs when they needed them, and fell 17-7. Bryson Satterfield got the start for the Dogs and lasted 1-⅓ innings, allowing six runs on five hits while walking five. Thijs Remy gave up three runs and walked three before recording an out. Jesse Clark tossed ⅔ of an inning, allowing two runs (both unearned) while walking one and striking out one. Mendez threw three two innings and allowed four runs on two hits while walking two and striking out two. Ashton Schwartz threw the final three innings and allowed two runs on six hits. He struck out one and walked none. Next up for the Bull Dogs (1-3) will be a varsity-only home contest against Roncalli on Monday night, beginning at 6:00 pm.
