Shelbyville knocks off the Bull Dogs in softball

April 10, 2026 - Shelbyville softball put five runs on the board in the top of the first inning and never looked back, rolling to a 12-1 victory over the Bull Dogs on Thursday evening at Southside. Defensive errors continue to plague the Dogs as they had four in Thursday’s game, leading to four unearned runs for the Golden Bears. Bailee Scruggs got the start and allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits before recording an out in the first inning. Payton Morris came on in relief and allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits while striking out three in six innings of work. Layney Henderson got one inning of work and allowed two runs on four hits while walking one. Morgan Jarvis had a pair of hits and scored North’s run. Lyla Deweese had a hit and an RBI for the Dogs. The Bull Dogs will travel to Castle for a two-day tournament on Friday and Saturday.
