April 12, 2026 - Sam Simmermaker, the voice of Columbus athletics for 64 years, will receive the Ron Lemasters Lifetime Achievement Award this evening at the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame induction ceremony, held at Valle Vista Golf Club in Greenwood. Simmermaker retired from broadcasting in the spring of 2024. Columbus North Athletics congratulates Mr. Simmermaker on yet another well-deserved award.
