September 14, 2023 - The second-ranked Columbus North boys tennis team has been battling lineup changes due to injury for the past couple of weeks, but head coach Kendal Hammel finally had his regular lineup back on the court Wednesday afternoon at Plainfield as the Dogs (12-1) swept the match 5-0. Parth Shah, who has played number one singles the past three matches, got the match started off on with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at two singles. Hank Lin returned to his one singles position and followed up Shah’s victory with a 6-0, 6-0 victory of his own. The one doubles team of Amrit Kar and Anvay Atram won their match 6-0, 6-1, and the two doubles (Michael Crossman and Yoki Murabayashi) followed suit with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Austin Clark looked like he was going to cruise through his three singles match with a 6-1 advantage in the first set, but had to hold on for a 7-5 win in the second set to secure the Bull Dog sweep. The Bull Dogs will travel to Floyd Central for a 10:00 am match on Saturday morning. Photo: Hank Lin steamrolled his way through his one singles match at Plainfield.
