May 4, 2026 - After five consecutive victories, the Bull Dogs baseball team dropped a pair of heartbreakers on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The Dogs fell 4-3 at Cathedral as the Irish scored in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge North. Saturday morning Terre Haute North snuck by the Dogs 1-0 with a run in the bottom of the eighth inning, dropping the Bull Dogs to 9-8 for the season. Friday night at Cathedral, Jayden Adorno got the start and pitched 6-⅓ innings, allowing just four hits, resulting in four runs (two earned). He struck out five and walked two. The Dogs could only muster two hits (one each by Ike Genth and Thijs Remy), but managed to score three runs (Macario Mendez, Jesse Clark, and Genth each scored). On Saturday at Terre Haute North, Dillon Long tossed 5-⅓ innings, allowing just one hit and three walks, while striking out two. Brock Kintner came on in the seventh and gave up four hits and a bases loaded hit-by-pitch to close the game. Kintner struck out a pair of Patriots. Again, the Bull Dog bats struggled to get warmed up as North could only tally four hits (one each by Jack Whaley, Clark, Sam Perry, and Bryson Satterfield) in a pitcher’s duel. The Bull Dogs will have another busy week, starting with a trip to Shelbyville this evening for a non-conference matchup with the Golden Bears. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
