May 4, 2026 - Columbus North girls tennis lost all three matches to ranked opponents at the Avon Invitational on Friday and Saturday, but head Coach Kendal Hammel is confident that the experience of playing a very challenging regular season schedule will pay off for his Bull Dogs heading into the post season. The Dogs lost to host Avon on Friday evening 3-2. North got victories from Valeria Cortes at number one singles and Lucy Bergman at two singles. Saturday morning, North fell 3-2 to Penn, with Bull Dog victories coming from Bergman and the two doubles team of Molly Richards and Dhish Vudathaneni. Bergman finished a perfect 3-0 weekend with another victory in her two singles match against Jasper, but once again the team fell 3-2. Cortes earned the other match victory for the Bull Dogs. North will host Terre Haute South Monday evening beginning at 6:00 pm.
