North drops match to 22nd-ranked Floyd Central

September 20, 2023 - Columbus North fell to 22nd-ranked Floyd Central in varsity volleyball on Wednesday evening, but the Dogs didn’t go down without a fight. The Highlanders slipped by North 25-15 in the first set, but the Bull Dogs battled back to take the second set 25-21. Another competitive third set was won by Floyd Central 25-20, but the fourth set was all Highlanders, 25-14. Statistically the Bull Dogs were led in kills and blocks by Kennedy Horn with 16 and three, respectively, and in digs by Morgan Osborn with twelve. Ally Wettschurack had the most service aces for the Bull Dogs with 3, and Reese Edwards led in assists with 27. The Bull Dogs have fallen back to 9-9 for the season and will travel to Hauser High School on Saturday to participate in the Heritage Volleyball Classic. The JV and freshman teams were each swept 2-0 by Floyd Central in the early matches.
