Brock Kintner (#8 on the right) had a home run in a 5-0 victory over Columbus East and a grand slam in a victory over Zionsville as the Dogs went 2-1 this weekend.

May 10, 2026 - Brock Kintner took the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the first inning against Columbus East over the center field wall and the Dogs rolled to a 5-0 victory over the Olympians. Kinter had a pair of hits, two RBI and scored once to help North shutout the O’s in the annual cross-town rivalry game in front of a large crowd on a beautiful night for baseball. Jack Whaley added a pair of hits for the Dogs, including a double, and the Dogs took advantage of five walks to score three runs in the first inning, and one each in the fourth and fifth to secure the victory. Jayden Adorno got the start on the mound and tossed a one hit, six strikeout gem in six innings of work, before handing the ball to Dillon Long, who closed out the game with a perfect seventh inning. The Dogs didn’t get to relish in their victory for very long as they traveled to Zionsville Saturday morning for a three-team round robin with the Eagles and Class 3A top-ranked Andrean. Kintner picked up where he left off on Friday night, blasting another homer, this time a grand slam, in game one against Zionsville, helping the Dogs to a 6-2 victory. Kintner finished with four RBI and scored once, while the Dogs got two hits from Sam Perry, including an RBI double, and two runs scored from Long. Javier Uscanga got his first start of the season on the mound for the Dogs, lasting two innings and allowing just one hit and no runs. Long tossed the next four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, and Kintner finished the game with a perfect seventh. Sam Perry had a two-run double against top-ranked Andrean, but it wasn’t enough as the 59ers won 5-2. Kinter had a double as well, but those were the only two hits that North could muster in the loss. Jesse Clark tossed 2-⅓ innings, allowing three runs on four hits. Daiju Iwaya came on in relief in the third inning and gave up two runs on four hits before handing the pitching duties off to Bryson Satterfield. Satterfield allowed no runs on just one hit in his inning pitched. The JV team earned a 11-9 victory over Batesville on Saturday, May 9 to improve to 2-7 for the season. North (11-10) will travel to Westfield for a non-conference matchup with the Shamrocks at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12.
