Dogs complete 4-1 Conference Indiana season with commanding victory at Terre Haute South

September 24, 2023 - Columbus North boys soccer concluded the regular season 9-3-3 after a 5-1 victory at Terre Haute South on Saturday (September 23). The victory moved the Dogs to 4-1 in Conference Indiana play. Christian Cardoso got the Dogs on the board in the 11th minute with a goal from an Aidan Whitley assist. Twenty minutes later, Thomas De La Cruz converted a penalty kick to put North up 2-0 at half time. Three minutes into the second half, Terre Haute South scored on a free kick to cut the Bull Dog lead to 2-1. The remainder of the match was all Bull Dogs as Madux Tovey had three goals in the second half. The first came off of Whitley’s second assist in the 52nd minute, followed by a 59th minute goal off of a Misaki Takemoto assist. Tovey completed the hat trick with an unassisted goal in the 61st minute. The Dogs pounded 23 shots for the match, including 13 on goal. Terre Haute South tallied only eight shots, and only three on goal. Juan Jose Salcedo Calderon kept goal for the Bull Dogs for 72 minutes, recording a pair of saves. Noah Marsh worked in goal the last eight minutes with no saves. The Bull Dog JV team won the early match 7-0 to improve to conclude their season with a 6-5-4 record.
