Columbus North High School

May 27, 2026 - Columbus North girls track and field accumulated 110 team points at the Bloomington North Regional (held at Bloomington South High School) on Tuesday evening, a total that most often easily wins the regional meet. However, the Dogs finished second to a loaded team from Bloomington South, who totaled 139 team points. Nevertheless, the Bull Dogs set three school records and advanced three relays and eight individuals to the IHSAA State Finals on June 5. North’s 4x100m relay team of Avery Johnson, Lily Miller, Lexi Denny, and Emerson Chambers set a new program record time of 49.05, good enough for third place at Regionals and a spot in the State Finals. Miller then set a new school record in the 300m hurdles, finishing in 44.70, more than 1.5 seconds ahead of the field. The Dogs saw their third school record fall in the final event of the night, the 4x400m relay, when the team of Abby Eaton, Denny, Miley McClellan, and Reece Peeples finished in 3:59.35. The runner-up finish qualified them for the State Finals as well. Performances in each event for the Bull Dogs included the following.
