May 29, 2026 - The 4x800m relay won the regional title and the Dogs qualified three other events for next week’s State Finals while finishing third as a team at the Bloomington North Regional on Thursday evening. Bloomington North won the team title with 144 points, followed by Bloomington South (59.5) and Columbus North (53). Jeffersonville finished fourth with 48 team points. The Dogs started the evening with a regional title in the 4x800m relay, as the quartet of Logan Vanzant, Noah Weidman, Graham Pumphrey, and Jace Works edged Bloomington North by less than a second (7:52.79 to the Cougars’ 7:53.63). Jace Works later set a new PR in a runner-up finish in the 800m (1:52.04). Denton Sluder finished second in the 3200m in 9:30.30, and the 4x400m relay of Aiden Hayes, Davonte Degraffenreid, Jace Works, and Max Wilson earned a State Finals berth with a third place finish (3:25.36). The IHSAA State Finals will take place on Saturday, June 6 at North Central High School.
