September 30, 2023 - Second-ranked Columbus North boys tennis won their twelfth straight Sectional (and 46th overall) with a 5-0 victory over Greensburg. 46 Sectional championships ranks the Bull Dogs second historically behind Munster (50) and tied with North Central, who each won their Sectional championship again this season. The Bull Dogs will host the Regional tournament next week and will face the winner of the Seymour Sectional which is to be played Saturday morning. Hank Lin got the match started with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at one singles. The two doubles team of Michael Crossman and Yoki Murabayashi finished next with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Austin Clark then completed a 6-0, 6-0 victory at three singles, followed by a 6-0, 6-0 victory by the one doubles team of Amrit Kar and Anvay Atram. Finally, Parth Shah knocked off Greensburg’s number two singles player 6-0, 6-1 to complete the Bull Dog sweep. Regional competition will begin on Tuesday, October 3 at 5:30 pm at the Columbus North tennis courts.
