October 5, 2023 - Franklin Community swept Columbus North in varsity volleyball on Thursday evening in Memorial Gymnasium at Columbus North. The Grizzy Cubs won all three sets with scores of 25-11, 25-18, and 25-20. Kennedy Horn led the Bull Dogs in kills (8) and blocks (5), while Karen Dutro added eight kills of her own along with three blocks. Reese Edwards had twelve digs and 19 assists to lead North in both categories, while Morgan Osborn recorded eleven digs. The loss drops the Bull Dogs to 15-11 for the season with just one regular season match remaining. The Dogs will close out their season (and Conference Indiana play) by hosting Terre Haute South on Saturday. JV is scheduled to begin at 11:00, with varsity to follow. The two teams split the early matches, with North taking the JV match 2-0, and Franklin sweeping the freshman match 2-0. This match concludes the season for the 9th graders, who finished 6-9.
