August 23, 2022 - Head coach David Young’s girls soccer squad did not fall into the trap of letting Senior Night festivities distract them from playing good soccer. His team, led by eight honored seniors, steamrolled Franklin Community 10-1 to improve to 2-1-1 for the season. Page Mora (shown) scored four goals, Lauren Barker added three, and Izzy Lynn, Rachel Merritt, and Riley Schumm each had scores for the Bull Dogs. Barker had a pair of assists, and Merritt, Madi Rutan, and Dafne Avila tallied an assist in the victory. The program’s eight seniors who were recognized prior to the beginning of the varsity match included Mal Gilley, Sarah Fulp, Natalie Ho, Lauren Barker, Maddi Rutan, Riley Schumm, Dafne Avila, and Kara Kohouse. Congratulations to these ladies. The JV team also knocked off the Grizzly Cubs by a score of 7-1. Dylan Jugola, Lily Priest, Paige Terry (2), Brooklyn Allman (2), and Chloe Nungester all had goals for North. Both teams will be in action on Wednesday (August 24) against Columbus East as part of Rivalry Week. The JV match will begin at 6:00 with varsity to follow.
