September 13, 2026 - Columbus North football suffered their first defeat of the season, falling to Class 4A seventh ranked Roncalli at home 27-15 on Friday, September 11. The Dogs were held to just 56 yards rushing, but 163 yards passing helped the Dogs move the football. However, a pair of key turnovers led to two of Roncalli’s touchdowns, which ultimately doomed North. Quarterback Max Wilson was 13-for-29 for 162 yards and two touchdown passes to Cohen Long. Wilson also had 50 of the Dogs’ rushing yards to lead them in that category. Long had nine catches for 127 yards and the two scores. Roncalli won both of Saturday’s sub-varsity games as well. North will host Class 4A ninth ranked Yorktown for Homecoming at 7:30 pm on Friday, September 18. The later start time is to account for Yorktown’s travel time. The two teams will play a 9th/JV combined game on Saturday morning at Yorktown.
