Manuel Valle had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 victory over Carmel on Friday evening, September 11.

September 13, 2026 - 20th ranked Columbus North boys soccer knocked off 14th ranked and defending State champion Carmel at home 2-1 on Friday night, September 11. Manuel Valle scored an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute, but the Greyhounds answered just six minutes later to even the score 1-1. Edwin de la Cruz took a Valle pass and scored with ten minutes remaining in the first half to give the Dogs a 2-1 lead, which held for the remainder of the match. Michael Larson kept goal for the Dogs (5-0-3) for all 80 minutes and recorded seven saves while giving up just one goal. The Hounds out-shot the Dogs 18-9, including an 8-3 advantage in shots-on-frame, but the Dogs made the most of their attempts and remained undefeated for the season. Carmel took the JV match 3-0. The Dogs will travel to Roncalli on Wednesday evening before hosting Lawrence North for Senior Night on Thursday. The JV match is set to begin at Roncalli at 5:30 pm.
