September 20, 2026 - Class 4A ninth-ranked Yorktown spoiled the Columbus North Homecoming festivities with a 24-7 victory over the Bull Dogs on Friday night, September 18. Columbus North tallied 259 rushing yards, led by Ashton Schwartz’s 134 yards on 22 carries, but five interceptions were too much to overcome as Yorktown held the ball for nearly 28 of the game’s 48 minutes. Keaton Russell (77 yards) and Max Wilson (48 yards) also carried the ball for the Dogs, and Cohen Long had five catches for 42 yards to lead North’s receiving stats. Yorktown also won the subvarsity game Saturday morning. Next up for the Bull Dogs (3-2) is a trip to Bloomington South, one of the top teams in Class 5A next Friday, September 25, beginning at 7:00 pm.
